The South Korean financial giant says its Korbit – soon to be rebranded as Digital X – is just the starting point for a broader ecosystem that connects RWAs, stablecoins and digital assets.

  • Mirae Asset has completed a 97.15% acquisition of South Korea’s oldest crypto exchange, Korbit, and is rebranding it as Digital X.
  • The firm aims to turn Digital X into an “intelligent investment platform” that integrates real-world assets, security tokens, stablecoins, traditional assets and digital assets in a single ecosystem.
  • Rather than competing directly with dominant exchanges like Upbit and Bithumb, Mirae Asset says it will focus on investor education, research, strict compliance standards and institutional-grade infrastructure to support sustainable growth of the digital asset industry.
