The LSE is working with Kraken owner Payward, the developer of the xStocks tokenized equities framework, to bring top U.K.-listed stocks onchain.

  • The London Stock Exchange and Payward, Kraken’s parent company, plan to offer tokenized versions of the 100 largest LSE-listed stocks for 24/7 trading across exchanges, self-custody wallets and onchain apps.
  • The partnership could open access to U.K.-listed shares for investors in more than 110 countries. xStocks are not currently available to U.K.-based investors.
  • Pending regulatory approval, the LSE plans to list xStocks on its new 24-hour venue and explore fully fungible equity tokens with the same rights as traditional shares.
