X has sued Vivek Kumar Sen and Zmyang Sherpa for running fake bitcoin headline accounts to fraudulently earn creator rewards from the platform.
- X sued Vivek Kumar Sen and Zmyang Sherpa in London, alleging they operated a network of fake bitcoin news accounts to fraudulently collect at least 207,000 pounds from its creator fund.
- The nine accounts allegedly posted nearly identical, unverified financial headlines within seconds of one another and used coordinated likes, replies and reposts to manufacture engagement.
- X terminated the accounts on Aug. 18 and is seeking repayment of creator earnings as well as damages for alleged fraud and conspiracy.
