Security firms traced the $7.8 million loss to a helper contract the wallet owner had authorized, not to Safe itself.

  • An attacker moved about 2,900 rsETH, worth roughly $7.8 million, out of a Gnosis Safe wallet on Ethereum early Tuesday.
  • A trading bot called yoink spotted the attack in the public queue, paid about $47,000 to be processed first, and took the tokens.
  • SlowMist and BlockSec traced the flaw to a helper contract the wallet was set up to trust, which approved any caller that named the contract itself as its target.
