Oil extends day's decline to more than 5%
There’s no specific news that appears to be rattling the crude market, but oil prices are quickly adding to the day’s decline in the minutes since the U.S. stock market closed.
WTI crude oil is now lower by 5.3% to $80.50 per barrel, its weakest level since the start of August.
The news appears to be helping bond prices, with the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield now down 8.1 basis points to 4.623%.
Bitcoin continues to trade sluggishly at $78,900, roughly flat from 24 hours ago.
