Circle agrees to buy cross-border payments firm Tazapay for $400 million

The deal could grant Circle vital, regulated "last-mile" infrastructure, bridging the gap between stablecoins and traditional local banking systems.

Circle agreed to acquire Tazapay for $400 million in stock, in its largest acquisition since that of crypto exchange Poloniex in 2018.
Tazapay processes over $25 billion in annual volume across 100 markets, with roughly 60% of transaction volume already involving stablecoins.
